I am Heather and I am mama to two active boys, Jacob and Elwood, and our newest addition, son Landon. My husband and I raise our family on the Front Range of Northern Colorado, where we spend as much time as possible out of doors.

We are a homeschooling family looking to simplify our lives, while working together to create a life that fulfills us all. We home school in the Waldorf tradition, and it has been a fun journey of learning side-by-side one another

I have had the crazy luck to spend my life as a doula, yoga therapist, writer and artist, and I am not sure that life could get much better than that.

I began this blog in 2007 to document the growing lives of my family, and the projects that we enjoy together. It has grown into a space where I love sharing my creative world, and the community that inspires and moves me.

I am the co-editor of the online family magazine, Rhythm of the Home, with my dear friend Bernadette. The magazine focuses on the seasonal rhythms of the Waldorf and Montessori philosophies, and it is our goal to bring this wonderful community of artists, educators, writers, photographers and parents together to share ideas, projects, recipes and traditions that help to enhance each of the seasons.

Thanks for stopping in, and I hope that you enjoy

  1. Hi Heather - I'm a long-time reader, but sadly a terrible commenter. (My bad.) I wanted to let you know how much I love your blog, how I appreciate the window into your life. I find it so inspiring and have incorporated many of the ideas I find here into our home.

I was wondering if you ever write about how you homeschool your boys? We don't have a Waldorf or Montessori school in our area and unschooling freaks me out a bit. Looking for any ideas or direction.

Thanks again and have a great week!

I am doing a Circle of Stones week here at Dreaming Aloud to mark an International Women's Day event which is uniting women's circles. Later in the week I will be featuring your Circle of Stones here, so I hope it brings you lots of visitors.
